Web Development Intern
Duties and Responsibilities
The Web Development Intern will assist KMK Media staff with a variety of activities designed to provide broad exposure to the web development process. Under the direction of KMK’s Marketing Manager, some specific tasks will include:
- Develop and maintain HTML/CSS templates
- Multi-task as you may often work on multiple projects
- Produce accurate and high quality work
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback from other staff
- Work on client related website support tasks
- Work well in a team including copywriters, account executives and website designers and marketing specialists
- Test, track, and resolve programming bugs
- Work within tight deadlines
- Contribute ideas and think creatively to develop the best solution for a client’s needs
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a college undergraduate pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Web Design/Development, or related field. Candidates should also possess:
- Experience hand-coding Websites using HTML within a development environment such as Visual Studio and Adobe Dreamweaver
- Experience working with PhotoShop
- Experience managing content with content management system
- Understanding of and ability to code fundamental conditional statements
- Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An energetic, whatever-it-takes attitude

This position is unpaid, but class credit can be offered depending on the requirements of the applicant’s university. Depending on qualifications and interest, the position may be extended into the academic year. Applicants must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week. Marketing Intern
Duties and Responsibilities
The Marketing Intern will assist KMK Media staff with a variety of activities designed to give him/her a broad exposure to the marketing tasks common in an advertising agency setting. Under the direction of KMK’s Communications Manager, specific tasks may include:
- Writing and distributing news releases and other marketing projects (such as radio commercial scripts or website copy) for KMK Media and its clients
- Researching local and regional demographics, media outlets, consumer trends, business competitors and other marketing-driven data to assist in crafting marketing communications plans
- Assisting with e-mail marketing and social media campaigns
- Assist at special events, media news conferences, and other event-oriented activities
- Creating and updating local, regional and national media lists
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a college undergraduate pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or Communications (MBA candidates with an interest or experience in marketing will also be considered). Candidates should also possess:
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills
- Experience with MS Office, Internet tools and research
- Strong social media skills
- Attention to detail
- A sense of humor, a willingness to learn and a professional demeanor are essential
- Knowledge of local business climate and media landscape appreciated
